YMCA Digital is part of Nottinghamshire YMCA which has been around for 140 years!
We work with young people aged 11-19 in Nottingham City and Nottinghamshire. We want them to have fun, learn a few things, get creative and make new friends.
Our crack team of youth workers all have special powers – we have film experts, music marvels, radio specialists and dance professionals. Their mission is to work on exciting creative projects in which young people can develop their talents for the benefit the community.
Everything we do is about raising the positive profile of young people, we like to build their confidence and let them shine – sharing their music online, on live radio and at our many ‘showcase’ events.

Here’s a brief rundown of what we do, click on the tabs above to find out more.
Film
Our film team work with young people to produce all sorts of DVDs – from music videos to documentaries. You can become a producer, researcher, director or editor, find out what making a film is all about and share the results at special screenings or online.
Broadcast
Ever tuned into the radio and thought you’d quite like to have your own show? Well now you can! Learn about what it takes to create a radio show – there’s so much more to it than turning up with some songs and chatting into a mic. We’ll teach you all the tricks of the trade and help you on your way to Radio 1.
Music
Our music production youth workers can help with all aspects of music making from writing the first lines of a new song to getting it onto CD. We work with bands and solo artists and support young people who are just starting out and those who have more experience.

Outdoor
We get young people into the great outdoors and get them involved in everything from biking, to kayaking, to rock climbing. Our outdoor activities are all about personal challenge and working to create a brilliant team.
Dance
We have street dance programmes running at schools and youth clubs all over the area. It doesn’t matter if you don’t know your ‘teapot’ from your ‘toprock’, we go through the basics before giving young people the chance to form their own crews and create original routines.
